Welcome to the First Grade!
| The first grade program at Bowen School is committed to balancing opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration with the continued development of academic and social skills. Children will spend their time engaged independently and cooperatively in the use of numerous manipulatives as well as working under more specific teacher direction in each of the curriculum areas. The first grade program seeks to integrate the academic disciplines wherever feasible. Both program content and process aim to stimulate, challenge, and support each child's growing sense of self as a learner, a member of the human community, and as an individual. |  |
